In her article Hail to the Chief, regarding the statement yesterday by Herman Van Rompuy, she concludes that, "what we have running the EU now are Groucho, Harpo and Chico". A colleague stated,  "Wrong,  What we have running the EU now are Tony Hancock, Hattie Jacques and Sid James".

I disagree with both statements because all of the above were comedians who made us laugh. The gang running the EU only make me want to cry, Van Rompuy is certainly a comical figure to look at but that is where any similarity with comedians ends.
